Kindergarten

Thank you to everyone who attended Parent / Teacher interviews this week. It is a privilege to meet with each parent and discuss the development of your child.

Next Friday 26th June at 5.30pm is our Winter Lantern Walk and Spiral. I look forward to seeing everyone together for this special Winter event.

This week the children have been singing their Winter songs and preparing for the Festival.

Our story this week was the “Star Child,” an old fairy tale of love, generosity and selflessness, told to the children in preparation for the Winter Festival. The children made beautiful beeswax images in response to hearing this story.

Have a great weekend.

Class 1/2

Our adventurous Main Lesson has taken us to distant lands: Russia, Canada and India this week. With bony-legged witches who fly in a pestle and mortar, to tricky tigers and disgruntled bunya trees.

Class 1/2 have been singing our Winter Festival songs daily, and we have made good progress on our lanterns this week. Class 2 used their beautiful, oiled paintings and rulers to accurately measure in centimetres, carefully folding edges with steady hands. Well done Class 2!

Please remember to bring foliage next Thursday morning as it takes a whole lot of community effort and greenery to make a winter spiral!

Enjoy a sunny weekend,

Kath

Class 3/4

Our Main Lesson has explored winter tales and traditions from around the globe. Our singing of winter songs is ethereal. We have begun daily meditation as a “gift to our nervous systems.” It looks a little like a nap to classical music. I highly recommend. Stay warm.

Class 5/6

Thank you to everyone who came to the Parent/ Teacher meetings. It was good to catch up.

Notes that went home

  • Class 5 parents organising this year’s Class 6 Farewell Dinner.
  • Class 6 Firesticks clothing requirements.

Please note Class 6 Parents: you will have allocated seating for the Winter Festival.

Lanterns, Geometry, short story writing, maths, spelling and playing in the lovely refreshing Winter air, have been the highlights this week.

See you next Thursday at the Festival.

Warmly,
Julie
