Kindergarten
I finally made it back to school this week and it was so nice to be working with the children again. With Annie we planted a fresh crop of peas and beans in our garden and built a new colourful teepee trellis for the plants to grow on. With Michael’s help, the children are shaping bush walking sticks as part of a craft and wood working project, while completing his teacher’s placement with us.
King Winter still walks the land bringing cold mornings and evenings. Thank you for sending in more warming slippers for the children to wear while they play on the cold floor in the mornings.
I am so delighted to be back with the children, and I look forward to seeing all the Little Kindy families and children on Monday and Tuesday next week.

Class 1/2
What beautiful, sunny days we have had this week! Perfect for gardening with Annie, bushwalks and outdoor games and maths activities on our bush playground. Thank you to Amy and Soumya for teaching Class 1/2 while I recovered from a Winter illness. We are so fortunate to have such caring teachers supporting our community.
Our Main Lesson has continued in the Land of Counting. Molly Minus and Possy made apple pies and this provided an opportunity for children to make playdough pies, to be shared into halves, quarters, eighths, sixteenths etc. We estimated and then counted how many crystals were in the basket and played with an equal arm balance to compare the mass of two or more objects.

Class 3/4
We are evolving our Monday mornings into forest school where we play, read, write and draw all in our beautiful forest. In Main Lesson we encountered the glorious topics of the Rosetta Stone, medieval manuscripts and the book of Kells. We stamped and clapped and spun, learning two new dances and the songs Country Roads and Six Ribbons. We can feel Spring whispering to us.

Thank you to everyone who dressed up on our fundraising Dress-up Day. It was lovely and brought an exciting frisson to the day.
Grand Canyon bush walk permission is due next week. Please ensure you have set up the school app, so you are able to give permission.
If anyone has found some ear loops (one pair is purple, the other rose gold), please hand them to the office.
