Kindergarten/Boronia Room

This week the children have been enjoying their new morning circle, The Three Little Pigs. This circle is lots of fun and it will not be long before the children are singing their favourite parts from the circle.

With the rain and cool mornings, it’s definitely time for warmer clothes, coats and slippers to come to school. Some children may even enjoy a little warm sheet or small cot size blanket to feel warm and cosy at rest time.

The children have been working on making their own card and a small gift for Mother’s Day during the week. I would like to wish all our mothers, grandmothers and special carers in our lives, a warm and loving Mother’s Day this Sunday.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Francine

Class 1/2

The highlight by far this week was the Swimming Fun Day! Our brave little Arlo was the youngest competitor in the races and boy, did he do well! The children had such a great day in the novelty pool and so many of them loved going down the big slide by themselves. The rain certainly did not put any kind of dampener on their spirits! In fact, they loved it so much they could not bear the 10 minutes they had to come out to eat lunch!

This week, Freya had her first days in class (Monday and Tuesday). Both classes have continued their Stories from around the World Main Lesson. We need more of these stories – please if you have anything suitable at home, send it in!

You will have received a note about our school excursion next week to Wentworth Falls – please hand in permission by Monday.

Have a great weekend and Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mums, aunties, grandmas, and strong women in these children’s lives!

Soumya, Freya, and Jess

Class 3/4

We have begun our new Main Lesson Living Things, exploring the wonderful animals of our world and how we can care for them. Julie left us a beautiful gift by drawing our Main Lesson board and we are completely enthralled by the story of Charlotte’s Web during shared reading. The children have written about their favourite animal, and we look forward to exploring the living world further.

We have been learning about the relationship between addition and subtraction and the principle of equality. I am so proud of the way Class 3/4 always try their best, especially when learning new concepts. Thank you for practicing multiplication tables at home as instant recall is an essential skill for us all.

Thank you to Annie for guiding us in the school garden. Caring for the chickens and working with the rhythm of the seasons is such a blessing for Class 3/4.

Class 5/6

My name is Arya, and I am in Year 6.

This week we have been learning about the Ancient Greek creation myth. It has been interesting learning about the Titans, the Olympians and the Titanomachy which is the war between the Titans and the Olympians.

We have really enjoyed learning about the world and getting to scratch each country off the map every day.

Elizabeth has kindly borrowed some new books from the library and almost everyone has found a great book to read.

We have started a new lie down and listen called Narnia, or the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, that everyone has been enjoying.

Have a great weekend!
