Kindergarten
We had such a happy return to school on Wednesday, the children looked so well rested and revitalised. It was so nice to welcome everyone back to a new, fabulous third term.
The children didn’t waste any time getting straight back into their play together. They expressed so much happy energy, running, chasing and interacting with laughter and big open smiles to be with each other again.
We joined in with Class 1 /2 and walked to Turtle Rock on Wednesday, where all the children played and ran through the bush, enjoying the sunshine and beautiful weather.
This week the children heard the story of “Shingbiss” a little brown duck who was not afraid or tricked by the Chief North Wind. The children made some very detailed and exciting images of the little duck with their beeswax.

Class 1/2
Welcome back to Term 3!
It has been a joy to have the children back together and we have settled into our class rhythm with ease. The warm, sunny days have been glorious for bush walking, gardening with Annie and catching up with friends on our bush playground.
We are enjoying our first Main Lesson, being Mathematics-based, “The Four Helpers”. The children are already acquainted with Farmer Plus, Molly Minus, Tatiana Times and General Divide. Through story and concrete materials, Class 1/2 will explore the four operations as well as to build upon the foundations of place value we explored last term. Our stories provide context, engagement and magical mysteries to be solved.

Class 3/4
We are starting Term 3 with the History of Writing Main Lesson. This week we have been excited to have two new Class 3/4 students having trial days. We are looking forward to an excursion to the print museum, camping in the pine forest, a Father’s Day Morning Tea and the Maypole.

Class 5/6
It’s still winter, but it is beginning to feel a bit springy already!
This week Sayoko has been teaching our class, and I will return on Monday. Sayoko prepared a fun mini–Main Lesson for the week, along with much of our usual weekly activities.
I have attached our Class Calendar to the email that I sent to families.
Our Main Lessons this term are:
- Astronomy
- Ancient Greek myths and culture and
- Business Maths
We will spread some of the Business Maths concepts across the term by running a few food stalls on some Thursdays (please check calendar and any notes that are sent home). They will require the children to prepare, cook, serve and handle money, write ledgers and work out profit and loss (hopefully more profit than loss, as we are trying to raise money for our Year 6 Farewell at the end of the year!)
There are two all day (within school hours) bushwalks this term and our annual Spring Festival on the last day of school. Circus skills started this week with Stuart our ex-Circus Oz aficionado!
I’m looking forward to an active, interesting and fulfilling term for all!
