Preschool

We had a beautiful Spring Festival on Thursday, 3 October. It was so lovely to see so many of our parents and carers join in with our morning circle and songs.  We really loved the soothing harp music from our Class 5/6 parent, Luna (and her chicken!) and making flower garlands.

We are currently enjoying our latest Spring circle and would love to welcome Harvey into the Wattle Room. Terracotta diyas (lamps) are being created with joy and magic in preparation for the Festival of Light Diwali.

We are taking advantage of our sunny days for playing outside with water play and, in the sand, and have made a few visits to see the baby chicks.

We hope you have a lovely weekend.

Kindergarten/Boronia Room

Welcome back to Term 4! It is lovely to see everyone again and to hear about all the Spring holiday adventures. The children quickly got back into the swing of school routines and friendships were renewed beautifully. There has been drawing, making paper puppets and children sharing their own stories with the group. We practiced singing and heard more about Pinocchio’s adventures in Italian with Jess.

The children were delighted to find that the water feature in our garden was running and immediately began to cart water in buckets to the sandpit. It is always a pleasure to watch cooperative play and how well the Kindergarten children can negotiate a fair outcome for all.

It was a wonderful surprise to find baby chicks had hatched over the break and the children had a lovely time watching them potter around mother hen. We continued to explore the big playground, climbing new trees and trying out the Gaga Ball Pit!

Our story this week is exploring Spring themes and mirrors the new growth that is happening all around us. Moulding beeswax is a useful way to reflect upon the themes of our story and new life.

Warm wishes,

Kath, Jess, and Francine

Class 1/2

We hope that you all had a wonderful spring break and that the children are rested and ready to return to Term 4. It is going to be a big and busy term with lots of activities planned such as the Swimming Intensives in Week 2, Class Camp in Week 3 and the Class Play in Week 7. Please check the calendar regularly.

Our Main Lessons this term will be Marcel’s Marketplace, Living Kingdoms (which will focus on our class play) and Inspirational People.

We have sent home a copy of our timetable where we have highlighted the times that we would greatly appreciate help from our parents and carers. The school camp and class play will both require all hands on-deck to bring it to fruition. As well as weekly activities such as craft and reading.

Please pop in and say hello this week as we always welcome parent connection and any insights into how your child is going or how we can further support them this term.

Many thanks,

Amy, Soumya, and Kath

Class 3/4

Have you been feeding your children? They all look like they have grown quite significantly taller over the Spring holidays! I hope everyone had a good holiday, at home or out and about.

I would like to welcome Clara back to class, after a term away travelling around Australia with her family. We have heard a few stories so far and it sounds like it has been such a fantastic and expansive experience! I would also like to welcome Davis and his family to Class 3 and to our school.

We are continuing on with our Volume and Mass Maths Main Lesson, ‘Is your cup half empty or half full?  Also, the children are hearing more stories from our Spring on the Farm Main Lesson, which will be the basis for our Class Play.
