Class 1/2
With great warmth I welcome everyone back to Term 4, I hope you all enjoyed a relaxing Spring break and soaked up some sunshine. It is wonderful to see the children back together this week, listen to their holiday stories and see their missing teeth.
Our first Main Lesson of the term, Marcel’s Magical Craft Market, has a focus of Mathematics. The children have already met Magical Marcel and his cheeky monkey friend Sam, followed General Divide and his troops in the measuring and setting up of the marketplace. We are looking forward to the crafty and magical stories and activities ahead.
We are super excited and ready for adventure! Swimming lessons will occur at Springwood Aquatic Centre next Monday through to Friday. Kindly return notes as soon as possible, also it would be helpful for children to practise dressing and putting on goggles independently this weekend. We’ll definitely be experts by the end of next week!
Next Friday, 24 October we will honour our wonderful Grandparents and welcome them into our classroom from 10:15 am until recess. We would love to hear stories of what primary school life was like for our Grandparents and share an activity together. Morning Tea will be available at 11-11:30 am, a lovely opportunity to connect with others in our community.
Enjoy a sunny weekend!
Warmly,
Kath and Class 1/2 Assistants

Class 3/4
Term 4 is set to be a busy and exciting time.
- Week 2 – Swim school all week
- Week 3 – On Thursday we have the rescheduled Gully excursion
- Week 3 and 4 – On Fridays, our class is running food stalls for the school
- Week 7 – We look forward to our Monday and Tuesday camp to Brewongle
- Week 8 – On Wednesday we will perform our class play
- Week 9 – On Monday we have School Fun Day and on Wednesday our summer festival and the end of the year!
Sport with Pete and gardening with Annie continue on Mondays this term. Dharug with Amy on Tuesdays. Maths numeracy intensive with Minh on Tuesday and Wednesdays, with an extra two sessions each week. Italian with Jess on Wednesdays. And violin will continue on Thursdays with Mare.
Our first Main Lesson is on Money and Trade. Our second Main Lesson is on Drama and Performance. And our third Main Lesson will be on Maritime History. Woven throughout these we will once again return to the Norse myths. Hearing the remaining stories and decorating our own swords and shields.
Semester 2 reports are also handed out towards the end of Term!
During the warmer weather it is a good idea to leave a spare set of clothes at school so we can have water play and then get changed comfortably.
It is a busy term, however if you have an activity or an interest you would like to share with the class please reach out and we will see if we can organise a time.
Enjoy your weekend.
Kind regards
Jeneva and Meredith

Class 5/6
I hope you have had a lovely Spring break holiday with your children.
This term is a 9-week term and there is a lot to do. Your children will receive take-home copies of the Term Timetable as well.
Our Class play is on Thursday 6 November at 6pm. Play Rehearsals will be happening almost every day leading up to then. I understand that the children may need to take a day off here and there, but I’d just like to request that you try to minimise absences during this time, so that your child doesn’t miss out on being part of the play rehearsal process. Any help with props and costumes are welcome. I’ll send more info soon….
Year 5 families: please contact Caroline Dale re: Year 6 Farewell organisation
Year 6 families: Please take note of the Year 6, ‘Making the gift for the school’ dates on the timetable below – it’s important your child is there on those days, as we have a specialist coming in to help them make it.
