Kindergarten/Boronia Room
We have enjoyed a wonderful Book Week. Lots of interesting characters and books came to school for the Book Parade, which was really colourful and fun. The Kindy children were so brave, introducing their chosen character and book to the school community in the big open space of the ballcourt. Well done to everyone for participating and bringing along such a wide variety of books.
Spring is on its way! This week the Kindy children heard about “The First Signs of Spring” at story time. The little Snow Drops and the Daffodils are waking from their Winter sleep, showing their faces and their beautiful fresh gowns to us as we walk around our gardens at home and the pathways into school.
The Kindergarten Spring Festival will be held at 10am on Wednesday 25 September. Please put that day aside to join the children for a late start at school and a day of Spring celebrations. This day will end our third term together.
The year is rapidly unfolding and the Spring winds are on their way.
Warm wishes,
Francine
Class 1/2
We started this week with a whole day outdoors – gardening, bush play and PE on Monday. The Class 2 children harvested and baked cauliflower, with cheese “fondue”. We overheard many children saying “I feel like a parent!” as they prepared it and “I didn’t like cauliflower until today!” as they ate it.
The Book Week Parade was absolutely adorable, thank you for your efforts and support.
Enjoy this warm change in weather everyone! Please check with your child if they have a hat at school. We sent them home last term to be washed and some haven’t been returned.
Have a nice weekend,
Soumya, Amy, Isabelle, Jess
Class 3/4
Class 3/4 have been writing their own stories this week. They have been completely devoted to create these masterpieces! They are thinking about animate and inanimate objects and they have learnt a new word: anthropomorphising, so some of their protagonists are not your usual characters!
Our Maypole has a brand new top made by Justin (Xavier’s dad). It’s just so beautiful! Preparations are underway for our annual Spring Festival! The Class 3/4 children measured each ribbon to make sure they were 3 metres. Thanks to Justin for his expert crafting of the new Maypole crown!
Our class camp is next week. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Have a lovely weekend.

Class 5/6
This week we started our new Main Lesson, Physics, and are learning about contact and non-contact forces.
We also did some tile and cement glue Mosaics with Sydney’s dad, Dominic Peters, who came in to show us.
We started doing Peer Support, following the plans we made, which went well.
We also had book week this week which was fun as we got to dress up as our favourite book characters.
And we have been practicing “King of the Fairies” for Spring Festival.
