Preschool
As the children play, they are most often ‘in the moment’ and meet the world in their activity which engages in new, and wonder filled interactions. They explore, investigate, imagine, create, and interact showing enthusiasm, joy, trust, and resilience. We have been enjoying the warmer weather, sharing some frozen oranges as a special treat, and often visiting the vegetable patch and chickens. We welcomed new friends Eleanor and Moa this week, who have been busy exploring and making new friends.
We have begun preparations for our Summer Festival and hope to see you all there.

This week the children enjoyed a beautiful story called “How the Snails got their Shells.” A very apt story considering how much gentle rain we have been receiving over the last few weeks and how much our little snail friends love those conditions.
The children made a host of wonderful creature creations in response to the story at beeswax time on Wednesday afternoon.
We welcome Tracy Baving, a student teacher, to our room. Tracy is completing her certificate in Steiner Early Childhood. Tracy will be working with the children under supervision, completing some small tasks as part of her practicum experience during the next few weeks.
I thank everyone for their ongoing support as we make our way into a very busy and intense time of the year.
Have a great weekend.

Class 1/2
This week Class 1/2 have been excitedly preparing for their play “Gurungady and Mirrin” … Everyone is doing a great job at learning their lines and working on some great dance moves! Please help your child to practice at home, it is especially helpful for you to read the lines that come before theirs so that they know when it is their turn to speak.
We will be performing our play on Thursday 28 November at 6pm in our classroom.
Our sleepover is fast approaching, and we will be needing at least 5 helpers for our Class dinner. Please contact us to volunteer.
Class 1 Bushwalk/Class 2 Sleepover is on Thursday 5 December.
Well done to all the children who participated in the cross country. The children had lots of fun and were all very proud of themselves for making it back up the big rocky hill in the steamy weather.
With the hot weather forecast next week it is a good idea to pack spare clothes for your child in case there is some water play.

Class 3/4
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and watched our class play. The children were amazing. Every single child extended their skills and grew more courage within themselves during the process of rehearsing, getting confused, trying to follow their teacher as she changed her mind as to what should happen when and where, and then finally performing! They adapted to everything so well, and even on the day before we performed, opened themselves up to learning a version of the classic Greek Zorba dance.
I would like to say a massive thank you to Meredith who pulled out her highly skillful musical sensibilities and brought joy and life to the play, through her renditions of some classic melodies.
It was lovely to be able to gather together after the play and eat and chat. Thank you so much.
On Monday we are going to Hyde Park Barracks on the train. Leaving school at 9am to catch the train. Please check the excursion note as it has all the details. Please email me if you have any questions about it.
We are about to start our final Main Lesson for the year, which is about European explorers of the Australian continent. We will begin on land’s edge and venture inland.
Have a lovely weekend,
Julie and Meredith
Class 5/6
My name is Arya, and I am in Year 6.
This week we have been mainly focused on our play. We have been painting sets and practicing our lines. We are working on lighting, sound effects and position of cast. We are also working on speaking louder (projection) and giving our lines expression.
In Maths we have been learning how to use protractors and how to convert fractions to decimals to percentages.
Most of us are done or close to finishing our tote bags. They look amazing! They all look different, and they are all beautiful.
