Kindergarten
Kindy has been all a buzz with activity this week. We have been so busy preparing for Father’s Day, making cards, planting seeds and cooking muffins. Now we are starting to prep for our Spring Festival on Wednesday 23 September at 10am.
This week’s story saw the children engaged in looking for the treasures of Spring. Our morning circle work is focusing on building up our Spring Circle, with children starting to pick the roles and characters they want to take on within the Circle.
Have a wonderful family day celebrating the fathers and Father figures in your lives.
Francine and Isabella.

Class 1/2
Spring has certainly arrived in the Mountains this week! We welcomed the sunshine and just like a gorgeous daffodil we have had a burst of energy and enthusiasm for learning and play. Thank you to those who could make it to our Father’s Day Morning Tea, the children’s singing filled our hearts with love and joy.
We are continuing our Celtic journey in our Main Lesson The King of Ireland’s Son – ask your child for daily updates about the wild and exciting story.
Our class play is beginning to take shape; we began learning lines and considering the feelings and actions of each character. It’s beautiful to watch the children’s serious work ethic applied to the task and the way they support each other in their learning.
Cross Country will take place next Monday morning, parents are welcome to attend to cheer the children on.
Enjoy the weekend,
Kath

Class 3/4
This week we had an inspiring excursion to the Printing Museum where we saw how printing presses work, how each letter must be placed individually to form the final piece. The children had a great time. The volunteers who run the Printing Museum were wonderfully kind and informative. Emma and Billy’s great grandfather was involved in establishing the museum.
In Main Lesson we began looking at Spring. We started exploring the changes that are occurring in the beautiful Blue Mountains bush at this time of year. We looked at the Blue-banded bees, whirring tree frogs, Southern Water Skink and Dwarf Purple Flag.
This lovely spring weather has brought much energy to our activities and a sun safe call out for children to wear clothes that protect them (and hats)! Also, if you have tents you can lend for the sleep over, especially smaller ones please let me know. Thank you to all who managed to come to the Father’s Day Morning Tea, the children sang beautifully.
Have a fantastic weekend,
Jeneva

Class 5/6
How can it be the seventh week of this term already????
For the Class 6 children, primary school is nearing its end… I can’t believe it! For the Class 5 children, I am seeing a lot of growth in all areas just as Spring jumps into action.
Our long-awaited bushwalk is next Tuesday.
Last week I forgot to mention how fab the class are doing in Circus. They’re building fancy human pyramids and working so well together.
Ancient Greek stories are venturing to the depths of the underworld of Hades and to the home fires of Hestia. This week we wrote ‘an instruction manual on how to Welcome guests to your home’ (as any archetypal Hestia would do). Some beautiful and unusual ideas were suggested!
Thank you to all the people who attended the Morning Tea on Thursday and heard the dulcet tones of the children bursting in song!
Happy Father’s Day/Uncle’s Day/Important People in your Child’s Life Day, for next Sunday!
Have a lovely weekend,
Julie
PS: PLEASE SEND SUN HATS IN!
